Earwigs

These insects are distinguished by their long, flattened bodies, with a pair of pincers at the tail end. They are nocturnal, preferring to be active at night and spend the day hiding in moist, shady areas. They enter buildings through the windows and doors.

Earwigs can be controlled by keeping the exterior perimeter of the building clear of any plant debris.  If intervention is required, an outdoor treatment to the soil at the perimeter, as well as the window and door frames, fascia, soffits and downspouts is usually sufficient. If you are plagued by these common pests, York Pest Control can help you.
